Town Justice: Renee Motola

A resident of Pound Ridge for over twenty-five years, Judge Renée Motola raised her adult children in town. All three are Fox Lane graduates.

Appointed to complete the term of the late Judge Ira Clair, Judge Motola was subsequently elected Town Justice in 2021 and is seeking re-election to a second full term.

Judge Motola graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a double major in political science and philosophy, and she earned her law degree from St. John’s University.  Her legal career includes experience both in private practice and as in-house counsel to a Fortune 500 company. Since 1992, she has served in the New York State Courts in various capacities, including as an Assistant Westchester County District Attorney, as principal law clerk to the Honorable Bruce Tolbert, and as Court Attorney Referee for Tax Certiorari and Eminent Domain.  

Judge Motola received the Joseph F. Gagliardi Award for Excellence for outstanding service as a court employee in 2019.  

She is dedicated to ensuring that the Pound Ridge Justice Court operates efficiently and to upholding the principles of impartiality and fairness in all court proceedings.
