Deputy Supervisor & Town Board Member: Diane Briggs
Diane Briggs has lived with her family in Scotts Corners for twenty-eight years. She values Pound Ridge’s natural beauty, historic charm, and rural character and appreciates its unique combination of vibrant community engagement and peaceful solitude.
Currently serving in her second term on the Town Board and her second year as Deputy Supervisor, Ms. Briggs is seeking re-election to a third term on the Town Board.
Her approach to public service is informed by a 30+-year career serving independent schools, higher education, and nonprofit organizations, where she honed her expertise as a passionate fundraiser and critical thinker, focused on building and cultivating meaningful relationships. Diane consistently prioritizes civility, openness, humility, and collaboration, demonstrating genuine care and concern while thoughtfully addressing community needs.
As a Town Board Member, she led the Economic Development Committee in the effort to revitalize the business district by redeveloping 77 Westchester Avenue. She was instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Village Green.
Her priorities as a Town Board member include responsible budgeting to keep taxes fair and services strong; protecting the town’s unique character and open spaces through thoughtful planning; enhancing community engagement by providing clear communication and ensuring all residents are heard; supporting our local business community with policies that strengthen the economy without compromising Pound Ridge's charm.
At a time when small towns across the state face increasing challenges—from rising costs to infrastructure needs to preserving our environment and open space—Ms. Briggs offers the collaborative, respectful leadership necessary to meet today’s challenges and maintain the integrity.
