Who We Are
The Pound Ridge Democratic Committee is a group of your neighbors who are working to better our community in a way that is consistent with the values and ideals of the Democratic Party. We invite you to join us.
The PRDC recruits and participates in the nomination of candidates for town, county, state, and national office. We support election campaigns and advocate for the Democratic Party platform and for good government policy and legislation. Some of the activities we perform are organizing public meetings, registering new voters, helping candidates campaign, running phone banks, getting voters to the polls, preparing voter mailings, staffing party headquarters, and working at the polls.
On the local level, the Democratic Party, its district leaders, and its committee officers work to represent everyone within the Town of Pound Ridge. We work to elect candidates and to support officeholders and committee appointees who are dedicated to Democratic Party ideals — justice, equality, inclusiveness, transparency, and fairness. We strive to build a strong, vibrant community where every voice is heard and where full and open debate is cherished. The energy and activism of our members and elected officials are vital to these efforts. The PRDC also coordinates with elected officials and other party groups at the county level and beyond.
Our Leadership
We have been lucky to have been served by a series of dynamic and creative chairs, some of whom remain active in the party. The local party is currently led by Committee Chair Roslyn Stone Pollock.
